We are located north of the little historic town of Shoshone, Idaho, which is in South Central Idaho.

Kirk was raised on a horse. As early as 3 or 4 years old helping check cows and gathering cows on his grandparents ranch. Wearing blisters on his bottom, but still wanting to ride. Carla never owned a horse of her own until they were married. She shared and rode many friends and neighbors horses. She also held a subscription to Western Horseman at an early age. Her first love of horses was imprinted on her mind at the age of 7 while living on a ranch in Nevada. When she seen a majestic site and herd the pounding of hoofs of the ranches hundreds of horses being gathered in.

When we were married and had a child we bought 3 mares. Which we rode and showed. Two of those mares were the beginning of our great breeding program. The other mare was killed in a tragic accident.

Our daughter Cherrylin showed in 4-H, Rodeo, and local shows. She married David Brake and they have 2 children. A girl, Shaylee Rose and a boy Dawson. Dawson who is 5 owns the biggest horse on the ranch. A race horse he says. He calls him Big Jim. He is a thorough bred gelding. He wants to rodeo this summer.

Certain bloodlines have been the focus of our breeding program. We have selected Quarter Horse stallions that are pretty consistent and you can depend on it. They are prepotent and pass these desirable traits on down the line for several generations. A very important part of the industry. We have selected for trainability, cooperative, dispositions, temperament, stability of mind, stamina, structure, speed, cow, and powerful stops. Old breeding but with good conformation. Our horses are bred to fit more people with a wide variety of skill levels.

We have many granddaughters of BUENO CHEX that we have kept. A few are double bred BEUNO CHEX mares. We also have owned a grandson of KING, a grandson of THREE BARS and LEO, a SUGAR BARS son, and a son of TWO EYED JACK, which we also have mares by. Most all of mares are good producing mares. As a breeder we are careful and try to pick the mares and stallions that produce the most desirable traits.
